On Friday 3 July 2026, delegates at the Tenth Quinquennial Session of the British Union Conference (BUC), held at the Atrium Hotel, Heathrow, have re-elected Wederly Aguiar as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Aguiar has served in the role since 2021, providing financial leadership during the past quinquennium.
Reflecting on his re-election, Aguiar expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue serving the Church and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting its mission.
"It has been a privilege to have served the British Union Conference over the past five years. As we go forward, we will continue to break down barriers to enable resources so that ultimately we can enable mission where it matters most—at local churches and in community hubs, serving the needs of all those around us. One life at a time, we want to continue touching people with God's love, God's grace and God's care."
He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He has served in financial leadership across the Church for more than two decades, including at Conference, Division and Union levels.
Wederly is passionate about strengthening the Church's capacity for mission through sound financial stewardship, good governance and practical innovation. His work includes advancing the digital transformation of treasury through ACMS Treasury, encouraging the strategic stewardship of church property and assets, and developing shared services that equip local churches and organisations to flourish in their mission.
The British Union Conference congratulates Wederly Aguiar on his re-election and looks forward to his continued leadership in supporting the Church's mission throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland during the next quinquennium.
