The Try Jesus Project, the first official British Union Conference (BUC) OneVoice27 initiative took a practical approach to outreach at the BUC Evangelism Summit, equipping churches with resources that begin with people’s questions rather than a commitment to a formal study programme.
Adventist Discovery Centre (ADC) Principal, Pastor Christian Salcianu, presented the initiative at the Leonardo Hotel Hinckley during the gathering from 30 October to 1 November 2026. Administered by the ADC for the UK and Ireland, the project combines print and online material for individual exploration and church outreach.
Its website outlines four stages – needs, questions, answers, and decisions – moving from personal concerns to biblical exploration while leaving the next step to the reader.
“Internally, the Try Jesus Project aims to contribute to the OneVoice27 initiative by providing a comprehensive package of materials regarding the person and ministry of Jesus Christ,” said Salcianu. Designed for a general audience, it offers a simple invitation to ‘Come and see’.

From first contact to Bible study
The introductory material distinguishes the project from an argument designed to win a debate. Acknowledging that some readers associate religion with hypocrisy or harm, it states: “Real faith isn’t afraid of real questions.”
The resources range from five short leaflets (pocket-sized, three-minute reflections) to the 13-chapter book Try Jesus! Meetings at Life’s Crossroads and a self-paced Bible study course. The book examines encounters with Jesus and their impact on the people involved.
A story booklet The Best Man’s Story follows Nathanael’s encounter with Jesus, while question-and-answer material addresses doubts and objections. Online articles cover Jesus’ identity, His second coming and the central gospel message.

At the summit, Salcianu urged churches to accompany those using the material through continued listening and friendship, linking the initiative to the gathering’s wider emphasis on trust and compassionate disciple-making.
Encouraging feedback about the project has come from overseas.
I would be grateful to receive the Try Jesus course study series in a PDF format. I have a Muslim friend who is interested in learning more about the Bible and the Seventh-day Adventist faith and I’d love to use these guides to explore God’s Word together. Thank you so much for making these resources freely available. God bless!
