Stanborough Park Church Presents Immersive Walk-Through Easter Experience The Easter Story

The Easter Story

Hélia Mateus, Stanborough Park church, BUC Communications
5 March 2026

This Easter, something very special is taking place at Stanborough Park church. For the first time, the church will host an immersive walk-through theatre experience titled The Easter Story, inviting the community to journey through the events surrounding the life, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The event will take place on Sunday 29 March, offering visitors a unique and interactive way to engage with the Easter narrative.

Unlike a traditional stage production, The Easter Story is designed as a moving experience rather than a seated performance. Participants will travel alongside the actors, walking through different locations as the story unfolds scene by scene. Each moment brings the biblical account to life in a vivid and engaging way, allowing visitors to feel part of the unfolding events rather than simply observing them.

Behind this ambitious production stands a large and dedicated team of actors, volunteers, and technical crew, all working together to create one of the most significant outreach events ever organised at Stanborough Park church. Months of planning and preparation have gone into designing an experience that blends storytelling, theatre, and spiritual reflection.

As visitors move through the journey, they will encounter scenes that capture the grace, compassion, and forgiveness demonstrated throughout Christ’s ministry. At the same time, the experience does not shy away from the deeper and more challenging aspects of the Easter story, moments of decision, sacrifice, betrayal, and ultimately the cross.

Because of the emotional intensity of some scenes, organisers recommend that children attend with their parents or guardians, allowing families to experience and reflect on the story together.

The journey will begin inside Stanborough Park church before moving outdoors into the surrounding Stanborough Park, where several scenes will be staged in carefully chosen locations. The short walks between scenes, just a few minutes apart, allow the audience to move naturally through the story while enjoying the beautiful park setting.

While the story includes moments of suffering and sacrifice, the message ultimately points beyond the cross. The journey concludes with the hope and victory of the resurrection, reminding participants of the central message of the Christian faith: that through Christ’s death and resurrection, hope and new life are offered to all.

Two sessions will be available on the day:

·       Morning performance: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

·       Afternoon performance: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Admission is free of charge, but places are limited for each session and advance booking is essential. Tickets can be reserved using the QR code provided at the end of the article.

Organisers warmly encourage church members and community visitors alike to invite family members, friends, and neighbours to attend and experience this unique Easter presentation together.

Stanborough Park church looks forward to welcoming guests from across the local community as they walk together through The Easter Story – a journey from sacrifice to hope, and from the cross to the promise of resurrection.
