On the night of 31st December 2024, the South England Conference (SEC)’s Prayer Ministry hosted an end-of-year night of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. SEC Prayer Coordinator, Linda Asare, was joined by Pastor Michael Njagi Mbui and Sister Janet Hamilton in facilitating an energetic programme filled with engaging presentations by pastors from across the SEC and the United States.
The programme was inspired by Esther 4:14 (KJV):
“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Various presenters delivered encouraging tools to enrich the prayer lives of attendees and strengthen their Christian journeys. The event was streamed on multiple social media platforms, with participants tuning in from as far afield as Mississippi, USA, and Canada.
The purpose-centred sermonettes included contributions from Elder Don Chihwayi and Pastor Don MacLafferty, who travelled from Tennessee, USA. Pastor Don delivered an interactive and practical presentation based on the foundational scripture, challenging attendees to reflect on the question, “What is your purpose?”
As the midnight hour approached, Sister Ritu Gill (Ilford Central Church) explored Esther’s purpose, reminding the audience that, like Esther, we too have been called by God to intercede for His people. She encouraged everyone to be courageous, trusting that God will equip His people for the trials ahead.
The early hours of 1st January 2025 were marked by heartfelt testimonies of Christ’s grace, goodness, and mercy. These stories served as powerful reminders that Christ’s victory is assured, even in our most challenging situations.
Elder Clarence Jackson urged attendees to “find your Mordecai”—someone who provides godly counsel, guidance, and prayer. Pastor James Yensen offered a unique and inspiring exposition of Esther 4:14, which resonated deeply with the audience, prompting a chorus of “Amen!” and “Praise God!” The presence of the Holy Spirit was palpable, allowing attendees to begin the New Year with renewed spiritual strength.
Finally, Linda Asare and the SEC Prayer Ministries Team extend their heartfelt wishes to the President, all Conference officers, church members, and friends (both old and new) for a prayer-filled 2025.
