In a demonstration of its commitment to community service, the Exeter Seventh-day Adventist church dedicated the Sabbath 28 September to providing free health checks. We are deeply grateful to the team of dedicated volunteers and professionals who generously offered their time and expertise, serving almost 50 people invited to take the tests using the premises of St Stephen's Anglican Church on Exeter's High Street.
The medical tests of peak flow, blood pressure, body mass index, blood sugar, cholesterol, and a health age questionnaire, which helps individuals understand their overall health and risk factors, were completed by the medical advice and expertise of Dr Lincoln Sergeant, Head of Public Health Dept of Torbay Council, who volunteered to help for the day and is also a member of Torquay SDA Church.
The project team had meaningful conversations with people from different backgrounds, and we are delighted to share that the event received overwhelmingly positive feedback from those who participated, reinforcing the success of our efforts and inspiring us all with the positive impact we've made.
