Our Journey of Faith and Excellence at Stanborough Primary School

Tiann Madden

At Stanborough Primary School, our pupils' journey begins with a guiding principle rooted in scripture: "Let your light shine before others" (Matthew 5:16). From the earliest stages in Nursery, our children are taught to embody the values of excellence, curiosity, and compassion. These values aren't just words; they are actions seen daily as our pupils challenge themselves to be the best in their academics and relationships with others.

Our school is a nurturing environment where pupils develop tolerance and respect, feeling happy and safe together. From sharing toys in Nursery to demonstrating mature and considerate attitudes as they grow older, we see the fruits of our labour in every smile, every kind word, and every thoughtful act. In these moments, we see God's work in progress, shaping the future through these young lives.

Excellence in Education, Grounded in Faith

With God's guidance, our school leadership, teachers, and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that the well-being of every child remains at the heart of what we do. We are blessed to witness the impact of our shared vision, not only on our students' academic success but also on their spiritual growth. As Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."

Our recent Ofsted report is a testament to the grace and strength we receive from God. It reflects our staff's dedication and our parents' steadfast support. Together, we have navigated challenging times, and through it all, we have focused on the One who directs our steps.

Our school's unwavering emphasis on academic excellence is mirrored in the successes of our pupils, particularly in English and mathematics, where they achieve very high standards. But more than that, our pupils leave us with hearts full of compassion, respect for others, and a deep understanding of the importance of service – qualities that will serve them well in this life and for all eternity.

A Community United in Faith

One of our school's most profound aspects is how we foster a spirit of community and service. Pupils take pride in helping others, whether it's through small acts of kindness or larger projects like fundraising for school initiatives. They learn that authentic leadership is found in service and that in serving others, they are serving Christ.

We are particularly proud of our pupils' outstanding grades in personal, social, and emotional development, behaviour, and attitudes. These achievements are a direct result of our focus on mental health and well-being, which we believe is the foundation of academic success.

As we look to the future, our vision remains clear: to continue building on these achievements and to ensure that every child at Stanborough Primary School experiences the fullness of God's promise. Our partnership with our sister school, Stanborough Secondary School, ensures that the solid foundation laid at the primary level is further strengthened in the secondary years. Their recent GCSE results, with a 92% pass rate (compared to the national average of 67%), are a testament to the quality of education that starts right here at Stanborough Primary.

Gratitude and Faith

We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our Board of Governors, school community, church, and local community for their continued support and belief in our vision for the pupils. As we move forward, we are reminded that the Lord orders our steps, and it is through His grace that we succeed.

In the words of Ellen G White, "True education prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come." This is the vision that guides us – a vision where every child is not only educated but also prepared to shine God's light wherever they go.

May God continue to be the Master of our school and lives, leading us in His perfect path.
