We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Barbara East, affectionately known as Barbie, on 22 June 2025. A cherished and faithful servant of the South England Conference (SEC), she passed away peacefully after a life marked by dedication, excellence, and quiet grace.
Barbie began her service at the SEC in January 1989 as a Secretary, later becoming a Graphics Designer in 1990, and then serving as SEC Church Clerk from 1996 to 2002. Her work was always meticulous and thoughtful, reflecting her unwavering commitment to quality and purpose. A calm and reliable presence, Barbie brought clarity, care, and professionalism to every role she held.
She retired in November 2015, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and quiet ministry that touched colleagues, friends, and the wider church community. Barbie will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 16 July at 1:30 pm (please arrive by 1:15 pm) at Poppy Fields Crematorium/Cemetery, Bedmond Rd, Hemel Hempstead HP3 8LL.
