The netAdventist web hosting platform that has served institutions and churches throughout the British Union Conference (BUC) since 2012 will close at the end of September 2026.
Pastor Victor Hulbert, the then BUC Communication and Media Director, commented on the benefits of the service: “When netAdventist became available, many of our churches had no website, or they had websites that were quite basic. With netAdventist, there was a choice of design templates, and the Conference and Union IT departments could provide support.
“As an additional bonus, there were many add-ons, which meant there was regularly changing content even if the local church only made occasional changes. This included features like BUC News, a daily devotional, and links to Hope Channel International. The main purpose was to help local churches raise their profile in their local communities at a very low cost, and I believe it was a successful initiative for a number of years.”
Paula Carillo, IT Manager (BUC), speaking about the future of local church websites now that netAdventist will close, said, “Churches now have the option to contact their Conference or Mission Communication department to request support in creating a website through the new Adventist Web Engine platform (the official website platform of the General Conference), should they not wish to build their own site.”
