21st-century life demands that we acquire 'stuff'. James Wallman, in his book Stuffication: Why We've Had Enough of Stuff and Need Experience More Than Ever, speaks about 'that system, where more is always better, you can never have enough'.
Often, we pray for God to supply our wants over our needs, our desire for 'something' new over 'being made new', and our want for a better-paid job so we display our trappings of wealth instead of inviting Him to imbue our lives with generosity.
God is willing to supply our needs because He is all-powerful. But He's also all-knowing and hears the deepest longings you and I are unable to verbalise. He wants to provide the best for us.
Father, as we trust that You will supply our needs, may we surrender to You all we are so You can bless us from 'Your riches in glory'.
