“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not” (Lamentations 3:22 KJV).
Last month, I found myself in a wheelchair at the airport in Antigua and in a similar situation when I landed at Heathrow. The mosquitoes found that I had sweet blood, and I became their hunting ground.
My quick trip to bury my cousin and say goodbye to my uncle, who passed away this week, was a greater trial because of these bites.
Two days before I returned to England, I was bitten so badly on my right leg that I was unable to walk, as my right leg was so swollen.
I tell this story not for sympathy but to reflect on the Lord’s mercies. If it weren’t for His blessings, we would not be around. Our lives would be so different.
Faithful stewards acknowledge the goodness and mercies of God to them through the medium of testimony. Each of us has a personal story about the greatness and goodness of God that we should share.
We can overcome the challenges from our adversary “…by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” (Revelation 12:11 NKJV).
Testimonies not only recount a story but focus on the Lord, whose mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23 KJV).
Sometimes, we may feel embarrassed to share a testimony because we feel it’s too simple or even too dramatic. Like the apostle Paul, you can shout, “I am proud of the good news! It’s God’s powerful way of saving all people…” (Romans 1:16 CEV).
Prayer
Lord of our lives, Your mercies are new every morning. You guard, guide, and protect us, and we are so grateful that You love us unconditionally.
Please give us the courage to share our testimony with others.
Amen.
