Babies keep their eyes on their parents when they are learning to walk. Young children hold their parent’s hands during busy trips out.
As we grow older, we begin to understand the world and need less direct support, or so we believe. We make decisions without consultation and often seek guidance from peers, celebrities, influencers and gurus.
Here, the psalmist speaks about looking to the Lord continually and accepting His leading. This is practising God's presence, Putting Him first, not just as part of our spiritual discipline but making it a lifestyle.
Father, may we not only look to you for wisdom but also accept your leading in the path of right living.
