His Majesty King Charles III has approved the appointment of Enoch Kanagaraj BEM, founder and Chief Executive of One Vision charity and member of Stanborough Park Seventh-day Adventist church, as a Deputy Lieutenant for Hertfordshire, appointed by The Lord-Lieutenant, Robert Voss CBE CStJ.
This royal honour recognises Enoch’s outstanding service to faith, charity, and community leadership across Hertfordshire and beyond. A devoted Seventh-day Adventist, Enoch has become a symbol of unity and hope, building bridges between diverse communities, faith leaders, and public services.
Published in The London Gazette on 30 October 2025, the appointment reflects Enoch’s commitment to the biblical call in Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
For Enoch, this honour is not a personal accolade but a divine calling to serve with humility.
“This honour is a reflection of God’s grace and the collective work of many people of faith who live out their calling to serve others,” he said. “Everything I do is inspired by the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40: ‘Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ It is my prayer that through this new role, I can continue to be a light in my community.”
Through One Vision, Enoch has mobilised hundreds of volunteers to address health inequalities, promote mental wellbeing, and strengthen inter-faith harmony. His leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic brought together faith and community organisations in an unprecedented demonstration of compassion and collaboration.

Pastor Eglan Brooks, President of the British Union Conference (BUC), congratulated Enoch:
“Enoch’s appointment is a testament to the way God continues to use His people to influence and serve in public life, reflecting the values of faith, service, and integrity that the Church upholds. His journey exemplifies how Christians can be light-bearers in society, working in partnership with others for the common good.”
Sharon Platt-McDonald, BUC Director for Health, Adventist Community Services, and Women’s Ministries, added:
“Enoch’s service exemplifies the heart of the Adventist message – faith expressed through love. His leadership shows that when we align our mission with God’s compassion, communities are healed, lives are restored, and faith is made visible.”
Dr Jude Jeanville, Senior Pastor in Watford, affirmed:
“Enoch is an exemplary visionary whose compassionate leadership has brought many communities in Hertfordshire together. He has heeded the call of Christ to ‘Let your light shine.’ His appointment as Deputy Lieutenant is a testament to how God honours those who serve faithfully.”
As Deputy Lieutenant, Enoch will assist the Lord-Lieutenant in representing His Majesty The King at civic and community events, strengthening the bond between the Crown and the people. For Enoch, this role is an extension of his ministry – serving humanity as an act of worship.
“This is God’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23).
“My faith teaches me that true leadership is servanthood. I dedicate this honour to the volunteers, faith leaders, and communities who walk with me every day in love and service. Together, we will continue to reflect God’s light in Hertfordshire and beyond.”
Enoch also expressed heartfelt gratitude to his parents, siblings, and his wife, Nishtha Kanagaraj, and their children, Jasmine and Jadon, for their unwavering support. He expressed his appreciation to the entire One Vision team, volunteers, and members of Stanborough Park Seventh-day Adventist church who have stood beside him on this remarkable journey of faith and service.
