Dr Robbie Osei Addaih Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award

A celebration of service, leadership, and community impact

Dr Robbie Osei Addaih of the West Bletchley Seventh-day Adventist Community church has been recognised with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Milton Keynes, Bucks, Beds & Northants Black Excellence Awards.

The end-of-year event, held at Wilton Hall in Bletchley, brought together leaders, professionals, creatives, and community champions from across the region for an inspiring evening celebrating excellence and impact. 

Now in its fourth year, the Awards have grown significantly, marking their first expansion beyond Milton Keynes to include wider representation from Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, and Buckinghamshire. Across 12 nomination categories, individuals and organisations were recognised for their contributions to community development and social impact.

In addition to Dr Osei Addaih, seven individuals from sectors including policing, education, youth work, healthcare, the creative arts, and faith-based service were also honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Organisational awards were presented to groups such as The Parks Trust, MK:Act, and Thames Valley Police, acknowledging their commitment to equity and community engagement.

The event was organised by Linked Events, founded by Nana Ama Ofori-Atta, a Milton Keynes City Councillor, with support from Natalie Djima of Regal Booths. Reflecting on the purpose of the Awards, Ofori-Atta shared:

“I organise the Awards to provide a platform for Black excellence to be showcased and to shine. At a time when negative narratives dominate, it is vital to hold up a different mirror – one that says, ‘you matter’, ‘you are doing an excellent job’, and ‘we see you’.”

The evening attracted a wide range of dignitaries, including representatives from the Gambian and Ghanaian High Commissions, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes, and notable figures from civic and cultural life.

The programme was described by attendees as a joyful and powerful celebration of excellence, pride, and community, a reflection of the resilience and contribution of individuals making a difference across the region.
