We were saddened to learn of the death of Pastor Ron Edwards. It is currently understood that he passed away on 8 September 2022. However, we are waiting for confirmation. Pastor Ron was born on 21 October 1932 in Sevenoaks, Kent.
Pastor Ron completed a BA in Theology from Avondale College, Australia in 1955 and an MA in Theology from Andrews University, USA in 1958.
He entered official denominational employment in 1959 as a Pastor and Evangelist Assistant in the Scottish Mission. In August 1963 he accepted a call to pastor in the North England Conference (NEC). In February 1968 he accepted a call to pastor in the Welsh Mission and in 1972 he returned to the NEC.
In February 1974 he moved to the Irish Mission where he served as a Pastor until June 1982. From there he returned to the NEC, and apart from an 18-month leave of absence he continued to serve in the NEC until his retirement in October 1997.
It came as a shock to Ron's family when they received the news that he was found asleep in Christ a few days after 8 September 2022. The funeral is scheduled for 24 October 2022 and will take place at the Grantham Seventh-day Adventist church, starting at 11:30 am.
We now look forward to Christ's soon return on that glorious resurrection day.
