Area 2 Churches Prioritise Safeguarding Training

In an ideal world, the church is a sanctuary—a "haven of refuge" for everyone, particularly the most vulnerable. However, in our imperfect world, where sin and its effects persist, churches too face challenges. They are not gatherings of saints but "hospitals for sinners". This dual reality calls for unwavering vigilance from everyone involved in the church's mission—leaders, members, parents, and educators alike.

Recognising this responsibility, Knowsley Seventh-day Adventist Church has demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding by sending eight delegates to a dedicated training session. The event, organised by the North England Conference (NEC), took place on October 27th 2024, at Liverpool Central Seventh-day Adventist Church. The session was conducted by Pastor John and Delivon Francis, both champions of safeguarding within the NEC.

The training gathered 37 representatives from Area 2 churches, including Liverpool, Sheffield, Warrington, Sutton Coldfield, Altrincham, Manchester Piccadilly, Wallasey, and Knowsley. These delegates have been equipped to enhance their local congregations’ safety protocols, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for all.

By taking these steps, Knowsley Seventh-day Adventist Church reinforces the principle of being "our brother's keeper," embodying the Christian call to care for one another. Their proactive approach underlines the broader commitment of Adventist churches in the region to provide spaces where worshippers and visitors alike can experience spiritual growth without fear or hesitation.
