Renowned choirmaster Mark De-Lisser (Wallington Seventh-day Adventist church) presents a new BBC1 television show which started this week on Monday 16 December at 9:15 am, entitled Meet the Street at Christmas. In this show Mark has four weeks to assemble four choirs of strangers, bringing them together for performances of their lifetimes in front of family and friends.
Put to the test with people from all walks of life, Mark brings them together whom having no singing experience, to see how their shared experience of singing in a choir can help them overcome the isolation of modern life.
The choir members talk about the impact loneliness has had in their lives and how singing has helped them bond with each other forming new friendships despite different experiences.
In this series Mark is the main presenter and choir leader. He also plays a pivotal role in reaching out to each choir member's challenges in life providing support and encouragement.

Mark De-Lisser; renowned arranger, vocal coach and choral director has worked with some of today's top vocal talent including Ariana Grande, Jessie J and Beverley Knight. He is the founder of Singology; an array of community choirs across London and has taught at many recognised institutions around the world. Mark actively leads award-winning ACM Gospel Choir and has worked on numerous high-profile TV programmes, such as BBC's The Voice UK and Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure.
Driven to inspire and motivate everybody to succeed, Mark helps to increase confidence and self-awareness, whilst improving technique and delivery. Anybody who is fortunate to spend time with Mark is left feeling uplifted and invigorated.
Mark however is perhaps best known for his arrangement of Stand by Me, for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018, which has now been streamed more than 3 million times on Spotify and has over 10 million views on YouTube.
